Cape Cornwall to Carn Kenidjack
The Cape stands alone completely exposed to the Atlantic storms. It is composed of slate rock traversed by granite veins. On a clear day, about twenty miles away across the buried land of Lyonesse, the Scilly Isles are just visible. Nearer, Land's End can be seen; either side of the Cape lie Priest's Cove and Porthledden Cove.
The Porthledden rock bed is slate littered with granite boulders sitting worn round and smooth. These eggs speak of life and the passing of ages. I scramble over huge coarse blocks hiding rock pools. A stream tumbles down the Kenidjack valley.
